About the board

BISE Multan was created out of the Lahore board under a 1968 ordinance and was established on 30 March 1968. It now works under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act 1976.

At first its area was very large and included Quetta, Kalat, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan. Separate boards were later created for those areas. Today it serves four districts: Multan, Khanewal, Vehari and Lodhran.

The board is autonomous and pays for itself through exam and service fees. It conducts the matric and intermediate exams, publishes results and gazettes, and offers rechecking, NOC and duplicate document services.
